a local artist from Bellingham, WA, Kristen Frakes is the illustrator and graphic designer behind kick step design. When she’s not drawing skeletons or mountain ranges, you can find her somewhere outside on a bike or board. She’s inspired by nature, borderline dangerous adventure and retro times. Kristen hand draws all pieces digitally and is heavily influenced by her surroundings and passions. She has adopted styles of 60s surf and ski culture, tropic pleasures and celestial nonsense at times. The style is an eclectic mix of randomness but you can typically identify her pieces by the retro warm tones and thin, smooth lines. While Kristen herself and the art is ever-evolving, she will always strive to create pieces that evoke a sense of stoke for life.
